SAC-AIDS BRIGADE

The SAC-AIDS Brigade is a community of African artists, celebrities, and entertainers who have committed their time and efforts to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote prevention, and discuss the impact of living with the virus on communities.

Through their work in the entertainment industry, they touch the lives of their audiences and discuss the reality of HIV/AIDS with their fans. Working with SAC-AIDS, the Brigade:

  • Organize community events and large-venue concerts around HIV/AIDS education and promotion of testing and prevention
  • Act as spokespersons for the organization in their professions and with the media
  • Record and disseminate public service announcements for SAC-AIDS
  • Participate in SAC-AIDS events and utilize their high-profile image to destigmatize HIV/AIDS and enable community programs addressing prevention and testing
  • Through the Brigade, SAC-AIDS™ method of using community-based entertainment is strengthened by another layer of high-profile entertainers, concerts, and events built around the mission of the organization: to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS in youth, workforce, and communities through prevention, testing, and networks around care and treatment.

If you are interested in becoming a Brigade, please use our Contact Us form to send us a note.

One of the major challenges the international community faces is the impact HIV/AIDS has on the ability of countries to achieve the MDGs. Evidence has illustrated that the HIV/AIDS epidemic is eroding human capacity accumulated through years of social and economic investment made by families and communities, Save Africa Concerts Foundation have recently introduce the Testing on the Wheel Initiation that focuses on HIV testing. As we know, limited access to quality care can contribute to delays in HIV diagnosis and treatment. Through its concert events, SAC educates, empowers, tests and links individuals in these disproportionately affected communities to care.
