Hardy Jimbes
Mr. Hardy Jimbes, born in Bishop Court in C.M.S., Downtown Lagos, Nigeria, is the youngest son of late Philip Jimbes who was raised by the first Archbishop of West Africa-Archbishop Vining, popularly known as “Bishop of the Youth”.
Jimbes’s parents are strong Christian advocates and philanthropists. Mr. Hardy Jimbes is a person who is always thinking outside the box, a leader who has established credibility and partnership with local, international organizations, and pharmaceuticals companies in addressing issues concerning global HIV/AIDS pandemic. As the president of SACAIDS, he has over the years progressively and effectively promoted the overall mission and in token has earned national and international recognitions for his amazing dedication and significant contributions towards improving the quality of life and the well being of individual living with HIV/AIDS.
Mr. Jimbes has been involved in promoting and producing artists internationally since 1985. Mr. Hardy Jimbes, who is a musician, producer, promoter, and a recording engineer, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and Music, and diploma in recording engineering and production. Inspired by a strong sense of social responsibility to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic, in early 1999 Mr. Jimbes was opportune to meet with Mrs. Winnie Mandela to discuss “The New Millennium”, in which Mrs. Mandela asked Jimbes “what can you do for your people in the continent of Africa in the year 2000, because we are getting old, we need young people like you to carry on the struggle” Shortly Mr. Jimbes joined the United Nations as a fulltime volunteer with the help of Dr. Delois Blackly (QUEEN MOTHER MORE).
At the time he was instrumental in organizing the United Nations NET AID Concerts at the Giant Stadium to benefit the hunger in Ethiopia. March 19th, 1999 the Queen Mother international citation award was organized in conjunction with the United Nations 43rd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, “The International Year of the Older Persons 1999” and Women’s History Month to benefit Queen Mother more endowment fund. Recipient of the award included H.E. Mrs. Fati Abubarkar, the first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Oprah Winfrey, Lauryn Hill, and Erikah Badu In 2000 he founded the Save Africa Concerts Foundation a non profit 501(c)3 organization with the main focus of Preventive Education to stump the spread of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B. SACAIDS is also an international organization with operational field offices in two key locations in Nigeria, West Africa. The two offices in Nigeria are registered as a non governmental organization with the Corporate Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. March 28th 2001 the Save Africa Concerts Foundation was inaugurated at the Helmsly Hotel, NYC. In attendance were eight African Ambassadors, OAU members, United Nations officials, New York State Government Officials, Entertainers, and Corporate Executives.
April 24th to 28 2001-SACAIDS was invited by the OAU, Nigerian Government, and the United Nations to Participate as an observer at the African Head of State AIDS Summit in Abuja Nigeria. Since 2002 SACAIDS has increased the effectiveness of their organization by organizing over thirty educational services both in United State and Nigeria. SACAIDS is approved as an “NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations”
