SACAIDS BEYOND THE TEARS, WHAT NEXT? PROGRAM AT LONDEL’S MARCH 9th 2006

Save Africa Concerts Foundation (SAC) continues to believe that awareness, prevention and treatment education are the key important tools to stop the spread of this deadly virus.

On March 9, 2006 SAC in collaboration with Gilead Presented the HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment update Beyond the Tears, What next?, the program which attracted about 50 people mainly Nurses and Doctor’s in Londel’s an upscale restaurant in Harlem New York.
The event kicked off at 6:30 PM with Mr. Hardy Jimbes President/Founder of Save Africa Concerts Foundation Inc. on few minute opening Speech and subsequently introducing SAC spoke Woman and educator Ms. Michelle Lopez who specifically spoke on How HIV/AIDS effects the minority women, which is part of the women’s month celebrations.

She spoke on the prevention and treatment update she also talk about the effort of Save Africa Concerts Foundation Inc. on the eradication of this deadly virus in our community.
Our third speaker was SAC project coordinator Mr. Mohammed F Auwalu Who capture the audience when he told them that he’s been living with the HIV virus for eight years, he spoke on how difficult it was for him at the earlier stage when he found out that he is positive and how he manage to fight the stigma of living with the virus he also spoke on why African women are more venerable to the disease.

 He spoke on the SACAIDS Project the impact the program has on the youth because of the entertainment ties he encourage the participant to support the project. Present at the event are members of Nigerian Nurses Association USA who has been so supportive to SAC also present is Donald Macleod of Gilead. Goody Bags that contains Literature, condom and gift items was distributed to the public.


Evaluation
At the end of the day the test questions and answer were distributed to the public for evaluation. From our evaluation at the beginning of the event the question and answer score was 50%. At the end the score was 98%. This shows that the event was successful.
