EMEKA C. NWIGWE

Amadou Diagne Curriculum Vitae Venerable Archdeacon Emeka C. Nwigwe is an Evangelist and Pastor. He is currently the Rector and Missioner of Anglican Church of the Pentecost International in New York City, President of EFAC (Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion) Northeast USA, a Church Planter and a certified Hospice Chaplain, an HIV/AIDS Awareness and Preventions Minister and a Supervisor-In-Training for Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).

Brother Emeka, as known by many of his contemporaries, has a very deep passion for souls. Much as he would want everyone to experience a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, he is also called to a Ministry that educates, helps, feeds the Homeless, Incarcerated and HIV/AIDS victims. His passion led to his planting several Faith-Based congregations in Nigeria and USA to help people. Having escaped death as an Ex-Biafran Infantry Captain, Emeka would not wish anyone to leave this mundane world without personal commitment to Christ. He served many positions in the Christian arena as the Prayer Secretary of Scripture Union, member of Enugu Musical Society, Organist and Music Director, Deacon, Curate, Vicar and Priest-in-Charge in many Congregations and Churches in Nigeria and USA. He coordinated and sponsored the popular weekly Sunday Christian Program, “Way Of The Cross,” on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA Channel 10) Victoria Island, Lagos.

As the first Nigerian Canonical resident Clergy in the tri-state, he planted the first recognized Nigerian Igbo-Ethnic congregations in Episcopal Dioceses of the Northeast. He was co-Pastor of the Episcopal Parish where he invited the former Primate of Nigeria, the Most Rev. Peter Akinola, to make the first pronouncement of CONAMUSA (then, Congregations Of Nigerian Anglican Mission in the USA). The Primate later mandated him and another clergy to convene the first Nigerian Anglican Clergy Conference in Houston, Texas, which birthed CANA.

Before going to Seminary, Emeka was a Banker on Wall Street New York City, from where he was recruited by the Federal Government of Nigeria to work for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR). He wrote proposals to cut down wasteful spending and saved the nation $Billions of Dollars.

Rev. Nwigwe had his BBA (Finance & Banking) from Baruch College of the CUNY, MBA (International Business) from Pace University New York City, Dip. Th. (Diploma of Theology) from Lagos Anglican Seminary and PhD (Christian Education) from Lighthouse Christian College, Beebe, AR. While working on Wall Street, he served on the Board of Directors for Pace University Lubin Graduate School of Business. In addition to his present Parish duties, he makes time to serve as non-stipendiary Board Member of many Non-Profit Organizations and a Volunteer Chaplain, Pastoral Care Department at the Harlem Hospital Center in New York City. He has been featured in many Newspapers and Gazettes in the USA variously as Coordinator for the Habitat Foundation for Humanity, US Immigration and Correctional Chaplain and an Evangelist. He was the only Nigerian (West African) Chaplain and Compassion Fatigue Specialist at the World Trade Center Debacle (a.k.a. 9/11) in New York City. Venerable Nwigwe is the author of a Book “That Child Is Mine,”

(now in re-print). The Venerable Dr. Emeka is married to his ONLY wonderful wife, Nkechi, a God-given Partner to his Ministry. Both are blessed with three sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. DS
